Crack Crab
If you’re a seafood lover in Philadelphia, there’s a good chance Crack Crab on Grant Ave is already on your radar - and if not, it absolutely should be. Tucked away at 2461 Grant Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19114, this spot has made waves with its seriously crave-worthy seafood boils and a menu that punches way above its weight when it comes to variety and flavor.
From the moment you walk into Crack Crab, the vibe feels casual but intentional. It’s got that perfect balance of laid-back comfort and a sharp attention to detail. Whether you’re dropping by for a quick shrimp fix or sitting down for a full crab leg combo dinner, the place feels welcoming - especially with its wheelchair-accessible entrance, car park, and restrooms, making it friendly for all.
Let’s talk food. The Seafood Boil is the star here, hands down. You’ve got options ranging from Combo Shrimp and Snow Crab Legs to Snow and Crayfish - and it’s not just about throwing seafood in a bag with seasoning. Crack Crab nails the seasoning game with rich, buttery crab sauces and just the right heat level. The Crawfish and Shrimp mix brings that Southern-style kick that locals and visitors alike rave about. If you’re going big, try the Dungeness Crab - sweet, meaty, and perfectly cooked.
For something a little off the traditional boil path, don’t skip the Shrimp Hibachi or the Grilled Chicken Sandwich. These dishes are packed with flavor and offer a break from the boil (but still hit all the comfort food notes). The Hibachi Shrimp with Lo Mein and Shrimp and Broccoli Lo Mein Noodles are especially great choices if you’re in the mood for something hearty with an Asian fusion twist.
Crack Crab’s menu also plays with some unexpected hits. The Takoyaki (6 pcs) offers a nod to Japanese street food, while the Crab Rangoon and Hot Wings give you a variety of textures and flavors if you're eating with a group or just like to snack your way through dinner. And for the fried food enthusiasts? The Fried Flounder Fish (3 pcs) and Shrimp and Fries bring a crispy, golden contrast to the saucy seafood mainstays.
This place doesn’t just feed you - it spoils you. It’s perfect for lunch or dinner, especially if you’re looking for comfort food that satisfies every time. Want to eat in? The dine-in setup is chill and convenient. Prefer a feast at home? Crack Crab’s no-contact delivery and takeaway options are seamless and reliable, letting you enjoy that boil bag goodness right from your couch.
And yes, they serve dessert too. While seafood takes the spotlight, finishing your meal with something sweet rounds off the experience in just the right way - a detail that shows how much Crack Crab thinks about the full customer journey.
This isn’t your average seafood shack. Crack Crab brings together a diverse menu, strong flavors, and versatile dining options, making it a standout for both quick bites and indulgent seafood spreads. Whether you’re a hardcore crab leg fanatic, a lo mein lover, or someone chasing that perfect combo of shrimp, mussels, and bold seasoning, this is the spot where you’ll find your fix.

I’ve been to crack multiple times and I’ve enjoyed it every time!! I always get Combo 8 in the Crack Crab Sauce Mild. I’ve tried a good amount of seafood boil places in NE philly and this is my top spot. I’ve come here in groups as well as pairs and no matter the amount of people they’re always accommodating. I 100% recommend this place for your friends and family for the next time you’re looking to get seafood boil.
